Topic Overview
Basic Acupuncture; Principles of acupuncture and brief review of meridians. Introduction to technique and variants. Overview of disease processes manageable with acupuncture.
Chelation Therapy; Principles of chelation therapy. Protocols for compounding and administration will be stressed.
Cryosurgery; Review of lesions approved for cryotherapy treatment. Practical applications will be discussed and basic techniques outlined.
Homeopathics I; Introduction to homeopathic principles. Homeopathic formulations. Administration routes and techniques.
Homeopathics II; Selected homeopathic agents and clinical applications for use in disease states and prevention of disease.
Naturopathic Pain Management; Presentation of non-pharmacologic therapies for pain management including; physical modalities, nutrition, light and electromagnetic therapy, acupuncture and acupressure, manipulation techniques, ultrasound, and trigger point injections. Also, arthrocentesis including; Homeopathic Pharmacotherapy and herbal supplementation.
Osteoporosis Evaluation and Management; Review of Pathophysiology, risk factors for osteoporosis, evaluation and naturopathic strategies for primary prevention and disease management including; life-style modification, naturopathic pharmaceuticals, and nutritional therapy. A brief update on allopathic pharmacotherapy.
Weight Management; Introduction of naturopathic principles of weight management. Modalities to be discussed will include life-style modification, herbal and homeopathic intervention, and nutritional supplementation. Metabolic work-up for underlying disease states will also be reviewed.
Optional Workshops

Basic Acupuncture; Participants will be given the opportunity to perform basic acupuncture including electrical stimulation under supervision of the instructor. This workshop is aimed at individuals seeking basic initial hands-on contact in working with acupuncture equipment and techniques.
Basic Laceration Repair; Enrollees will be introduced to principles of simple laceration repair. Instrument ties will be taught, each participant will practice suturing on non-living animal tissue. Workshop registration fee will include minor laceration tray and suture material.
Cryosurgery; Attendees will be able to work with cryosurgical supplies and will be given the opportunity to perform therapeutic applications on non-living animal tissue.
Certificate of Completion will be awarded to all workshop attendees.
